Should you desire to blend the gem onto your tooth there are options available that only a Licensed Dentist can provide. The first option is to bond the gem to the tooth and then add a tooth colored filling around the edges of the gem and blend the filling onto your tooth. The second option is we can safely use our special laser to ablate a small layer of enamel and create a much smoother placement of the gem so that the profile of your tooth will remain the same and not feel any bulkier. With either process the gem will not bother you on the inside of your lip and create any irritation.
If you proceed with the enamel ablation to have the smoother finish and wish to have the gem removed in the future, a small bonded filling can be placed at the gem site that will blend in and match your tooth.
